We don't just screen films.
We inhabit them.

Lumen Social Club began in 1984 with a 16mm projector, a bedsheet, and a borrowed apartment on the Lower East Side. Forty years later the projectors are nicer and the rooms are bigger, but the rule is the same: a member picks a picture, and the club builds the world around it.

Members handle the picture. The club handles the venue, the set, the soundtrack, the dress code, the cocktail, the ceremony. When the title card finally hits the screen, the picture has already begun.

We meet six times a year in old theaters, rooftops, arcades, warehouses, and the occasional decommissioned mall. Membership is small and stays that way.
